PNC Arts Center Race 4-13-08
The final event of the series featured large fields and great racing. See action from the Cat 4/5, Cat 3/4, Masters, Women, and Cat 5 races, and give credit to Josh Soboti (Team Metra) who shot the Norwood win in the 4/5 race while the finish was being captured on video.
Sandy Hook Time Trial 4-5-08
A nice collection of photos from the TT on the Hook. The biggest surprise of the day was it was sunny and relatively warm, but the wind will always be there at Sandy Hook.
PNC Arts Center Race 3-30-08
A small collection of photos from the 40+ race shows just how difficult this course can be, with a good perspective of the hill riders face every few minutes.
PNC Arts Center Race 3-2-08
This new venue at the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel was the site of racing action on opening weekend. Riders are already talking about this one and the challenging hill on the back section. Photos include the 35+ and Cat 5 races, as well as individual riders.
THE JERSEYRIDER PROJECT
Jerseyrider.org exists to tell a story, the true story of New Jersey's cyclists and their sport. It has always been the goal of the website to produce a feature presentation about bicycle racing, and we plan to accomplish that in 2008. In the future 'The Jerseyrider Project' will have its own page on this site.

2007 RACING
Labor Day Racing 2007
Labor Day weekend is the final big weekend of racing for the season, with action in Somerville, Denville, and Basking Ridge. Elaine Molinaro captures racing action and interviews in this presentation of the Somerville and Denville Events.
New Jersey State Criterium Championship
All of the previous crits have been leading up to this; the final championship race for 2007. The fast Marlton circuit sets up a battle for the sprinters to take home the title. Chris Labrecque and 'Wild' Bill Wisse (Team Norwood) break down the Cat 3 race and the team's success for the year. Featuring shots from the Pro 1/2/3, Cat 3, and Cat 4 races.
Criterium Racing
Throughout the summer months, criterium racing is on the venue nearly every weekend, and also some evenings. The technical discipline requires both speed and skill for success. The Captain - Ed Peterson (Team Pro Pedals) talks about some of the summer crits and how Team Pro Pedals and Team Norwood have achieved success.
*** Giro del Cielo Trailer Video ***
This is a short trailer video for the upcoming DVD production of the Giro del Cielo. The feature presentation of the womens stage race will feature each of the categories and all three stages, along with commentary and stories from the riders. Betty Tyrell of Team Somerset provides a sample of what is to come.
Juniors State Road Race Championship
Youngsters from around the state took to the roads of Branch Brook Park to decide the state championship. Danny Sullivan (Team Metra/Ideal Tile) was cheered on by his former coach, Earl Perretti. Earl tells about Danny's win, and also his own race in the event's open category races.
Corner House Grand Prix
Another great day of racing brought riders to Princeton in support of Corner House. Race director Tom Pinneo (Van Dessel) shares his thoughts on the race, the course, and how the event supports Corner House along with action from the 35+ and Pro 1/2/3 races.
New Jersey Individual Time Trial Championship
It was an all out effort in Chatsworth for riders in the State Time Trial. See race footage and hear what competitors Joe Petrucci (CRCA) and Larry Kaufman (Van Dessel) had to say about the race. Larry also mentions the upcoming Corner House Grand Prix - it should be a good one.
Tour of Somerville
On Memorial Day the pros slugged it out on the streets of Somerville to the delight of fans in this grand event. See the action and hear the post-race interview with winner Hilton Clarke (Navigators Insurance Cycling Team).
The Tour of Colts Neck See racing action from Atlantic Bicycle Club’s premiere event, the Tour of Colts Neck, held May 6th, 2007. All categories are represented in the video as riders tackle the technical course, climb the hill, and sprint for the finish. Featuring the song ‘Pinch’, performed by New Jersey rockers Stem. Sandy Hook Time Trial
Strong winds and low temperatures were two of the major challenges riders faced in the individual race against the clock on the Hook. Andrew Celin and Geraldo Rivera (Team Atlantic) raced strong in the junior divisions and talk about the race, training, and goals for the spring in this new short with footage by Mike Armstrong. Tour de Newark
The 2007 season gets underway in Branch Brook Park, Newark with this popular spring series. The second week of racing at the Tour de Newark featured fast action, breakaways, and tough sprints. See action from the Cat 4/5, Cat 3/4, Masters and Pro 1/2/3 races. We're still working with YouTube to resolve some quality issues with the streaming video, so please be patient as higher quality is on its way.
